1Who we are
MemeJutsu Ltd, 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London, WC2H 9JQ, United Kingdom, operates Memejutsu and is the controller of the personal data described in this policy. You can reach us about privacy at hello@memejutsu.com.
2Data we collect
Information you give us.
- Waitlist signup: your email address, and the part of the site or plan you were looking at when you joined.
- Account details: email address, name, password (stored hashed) or the profile details returned when you sign in with Google.
- Your configuration: keywords, watchlists, tracked accounts, alert settings and the prompts you enter.
- Billing details: plan, billing period and payment status. Card and crypto payments are handled by our payment providers; we do not store full card numbers.
- Messages you send us, for example through the contact form, including your email address and the content of your message.
Information collected automatically.
- Technical data: IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, and timestamps, used for security and to keep the Service running.
- Preferences stored in your browser, such as your light or dark theme.
Public information about other people. To provide trend, competitor and influencer features, we process publicly available posts, handles and engagement metrics from social platforms and news sources, and public blockchain data. This can include the public name or handle of an account holder. See section 7.
3How and why we use data
Under the UK GDPR and the EU GDPR (where it applies to you), we rely on the following legal bases:
- Contract: to create your account, provide the features you subscribe to, send alerts, and process payments.
- Legitimate interests: to secure and improve the Service, prevent abuse and fraud, answer support requests, and provide the public-data features described in section 7.
- Legal obligation: to meet tax, accounting and regulatory requirements.
- Consent: where we ask for it, for example when you join the waitlist so that we can email you about early access and launch updates. You can withdraw consent at any time by emailing us, and we will remove you from the list.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it to train third-party AI models.
4Who we share data with
We share personal data only with service providers acting on our instructions and only as needed to run the Service:
- Hosting and infrastructure: Vercel Inc., Railway Corporation, Amazon Web Services, Inc..
- Authentication: Google, if you choose to sign in with Google.
We may also disclose data if the law requires it, to protect our rights or users, or as part of a merger or sale of the business, in which case we will make sure this policy continues to apply or tell you first.
5International transfers
Some of our providers may process data outside your country, including outside the UK and the European Economic Area, for example in the United States. Where required, we rely on safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or the UK Addendum to the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses, or on an adequacy decision or the UK-US data bridge.
6Public data about third parties
We collect public posts and metrics so that you can see what is trending and who is driving it. We only use publicly accessible information, we do not access private accounts or messages, and we use it to provide analytics and alerts rather than to profile individuals beyond their public activity.
If you believe we hold public data about you and you would like it corrected or removed, email hello@memejutsu.com. We will review your request under applicable law.
7How long we keep data
We keep personal data only as long as we need it for the purposes in this policy, and then delete or anonymise it:
- Waitlist email addresses are kept until we have finished inviting people to early access, or until you ask us to remove you.
- Invoices and payment records are kept for the period required by tax and accounting law.
8Cookies and local storage
We use only what is needed to run the site:
- Essential cookies to keep you signed in and protect your session.
- Browser local storage for your theme preference and to remember which page section to scroll to.
We do not currently use advertising cookies. If we add analytics or marketing tools we will update this section and ask for consent where the law requires it.
9Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you and get a copy;
- correct inaccurate data;
- ask us to delete your data;
- restrict or object to certain processing, including processing based on legitimate interests;
- receive your data in a portable format;
- withdraw consent at any time, without affecting earlier processing.
To exercise a right, email hello@memejutsu.com. We may need to verify your identity first. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO, ico.org.uk) or your local data protection authority. We would appreciate the chance to address your concerns first.
10Security
We use technical and organisational measures such as encryption in transit, access controls and hashed passwords to protect your data. No system is completely secure, so please use a strong, unique password and keep your credentials private.
11Children
The Service is not directed to anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from them, and if we learn that we have, we will delete it.
12Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the Service evolves. The latest version is always on this page with its "last updated" date, and we will tell you about material changes by email or in the product.
